Panama's health services are on par with those offered in developed countries and much less costly. Many doctors are trained in the U.S. and return to Panama to practice so English is widely spoken in the medical field. Hospitals have state-of-the-art equipment. The result is that people seeking to retire to Panama or have a second home here need not fear third world health treatment. Many visitors come to Panama for procedures which would cost double in their own country and they have the bonus of a vacation in a tropical country at the same time. The same is true of dental services.
