The skin of a person submerged in a thermal water pool will absorb the large amounts of minerals dissolved in it, such as sodium, potassium, calcium and bicarbonate. Therefore, taking a bath in a thermal pool should last no longer than 45 minutes. These baths are highly beneficial in re-gulating sleeping problems and are said to cure everything from Asthma to Arthritis and stress. The sparkling particles often found in thermal waters are actually iron compounds. Due to the high concentration of bicarbonate, thermal waters should not be drank, since such an action could cause a laxative effect. The temperature of the water ranges between 36 and 42 degrees Celsius. El Valle's thermal pools are by no means stagnant. The pools have an inlet and outlet which allows the water to flow constantly. The pools are also drained and washed every day. Smaller, shallow pools have been built for the handicapped and children.

The project will integrate the railroad terminal, the three ports, France Field airport and a new road system. As well as reducing the cost of freight and bureaucratic requirements the center will reduce the transport time for cargo making export operations more economic and efficient. The purpose is to convert the Colón Free Zone into the "Multimodal Logistics Center of the Americas", attracting new investors and buyers and helping to increase international commerce.
