Once a week El Valle becomes a picturesque country shopping center celebrating its most popular tradition: the Sunday Market. Locals and residents of neighboring towns gather to offer an impressive variety of flowers, handicraft, rattan furniture, fruits, vegetables and flowers. It starts around 7:00 a.m. and lasts until 5:00 p.m.  There is a golf course at Vista Mar Resort, on the coast between Coronado and San Carlos.  

The town of  La Pintada is famous as the place where they make the "Sombrero Pintado" hat which is worn as part of the "Montuno", the  national men's dress of Panama .  

The archeological sites of Sitio Conte and El Cano are an interesting attraction.  Skeletal remains and tools dating from the pre-Columbian period are displayed.  

The picturesque town of Nata boasts the oldest Catholic church of the Western hemisphere.
