Pearl Island day cruising is packed with adventure

Summer is around the corner in Panama and there is no better way to enjoy the dry season than by being out on the water. Panama Yacht Adventures offers an assortment of tour packages for clients ranging from top international executives to jet-setting rock stars. According to owner Captain Andres Navarro, the most popular package is a day trip to the Pearl Islands.

For $950, up to ten friends can cruise out of Panama City together aboard the 31 foot day cruiser for a fun-packed day in Panama's Pacific archipelago. While zipping around the 42 islands that make up "Las Perlas", day cruisers enjoy para sailing, snorkeling, wake boarding, whale watching and even sport fishing.

The U.S. Coast Guard Certified vessel comes complete with captain and mate. Safety is of great importance to Navarro's company. He told The Visitor: "When people come aboard our vessels and the first thing they hear is a detailed explanation of the safety rules and location of life vests in clear English, they immediately feel at ease. It's one of the reasons we have so much referral and repeat business."

Soda, water and beer are included throughout the day. Captain Navarro recommends stopping for lunch at Romantic Village, or for those up for an adventure, finding a pristine, deserted beach and cooking up the morning's catch over a bonfire is also an option.

Navarro and his crew know the Pearl Islands inside and out. He worked with the Survivor team when they were filming in the islands, doing logistics work. "The Pearl Islands are one of Panama's hidden treasures," said Navarro, "and for people who really love the sea, there is nothing better than getting out there and enjoying the natural beauty."

Panama Yacht Adventures' offices are located in Obarrio.
