AN EXHIBITION OF DESIGN, interior decoration and landscaping is currently being held by the Brazilian franchise Casa Cor at the old Santo Tomas Hospital Building on Avenida Balboa in Panama City.
This represents a spectacular launch for the Casa Cor brand in Panama and a bonus for the Santo Tomas Hospital since their old, original building, which was abandoned five years ago during a re-modelling of the entire facility, has received a $2.5 million facelift by Casa Cor.
Casa Cor started 21 years ago in Brazil and expanded to other countries as far apart as Peru and Sweden. The franchise organizes an interior design exhibition once a year in a derelict historic building, that can be privately or goverment owned. Once the site has been selected, the company makes appeals to sponsors and designers to create spaces with the latest trends in interior designs.
This year the exhibition has 45 environments or corners and it is divided in two areas: commercial and residential. The commercial part has banks, restaurant, bar, bookshop and a real estate office all of them open to the public.
In the residential side, you will find rooms representing different lifestyles and parts of the house, from the ultramodern kitchen with computerized controls to the twin bedroom with its tiny toilets. Each area has been created by an individual designer.
