Tour a coffee farm

Your hotel can arrange a tour of a coffee farm.  Panamanian coffee is being discovered by gourmets all over the world.   

Volcan Baru
It is possible to reach close to the peak in a 4 wheel drive vehicle.  Your hotel can probably arrange this for you.  It is also possible to hike to the top with a local guide but this is only for the very fit.  

Horseback riding

River rafting
There are companies dedicated to this sport in Boquete.  The Chiriqi Viejo and Esti rivers offer class 2,3,4 and 5 rides.

Hiking
There are public trails through the Palo Alto Forest which are easy to follow. For more difficult trails local guides can be hired.  

Visit the Boquete Flower and Coffee Fair if you are in the area in January. This is a big annual event.  The grounds are open for garden lovers year round but they are at their best in January.  There is also an Orchid Fair in April.
